Inauguration of Sensors Research Society
Sensors Research Society has been inaugurated by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India, on 13-08-2010. Dr. V. K. Saraswat, Scientific Advisor to Raksha Mantri, Shri K.V.S.S. Prasad Rao, Chairman, NTRO, Lt. Gen(Dr.) V. J. Sundaram, PVSM, AVSM, VSM(Retd.), Advisor, Micro & Nano Technology, NDRF along with the society President Shri S. K. Ray, Director, RCI graced the function.
In a function at RCI, where the inauguration took place, he wished the society will do good to realize its aims and objectives. He also released the logo of the society and then launched the website. Around 450 scientists took part in the function.
On this occasion, a Luminary lecture series also has been initiated. The inaugural lectures were given by Prof. Bishnu P Pal, Prof. IIT Delhi and Prof. K. N. Bhat, IISc Bangalore. Prof. Pal gave a lecture on fiber optic sensors while Prof. Bhat delivered a talk on sensors for micro systems.
